A firm believer in sharing his passion for music through education, Schuyler Jackson frequently works with aspiring musicians of all ages through youth orchestra masterclasses, orchestral and chamber music coaching sessions, side-by-side rehearsals and performances, and private lessons. For the 2025 spring semester, Schuyler is the Adjunct Assistant Professor of Bassoon at Shenandoah Conservatory.

Additionally, Schuyler has performed educational concerts at public and private schools in the Baltimore-Washington metropolitan area as a part of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra’s educational concert series and throughout the Minneapolis-St. Paul metropolitan area as a part of the Minnesota Orchestra’s Kinder Konzert series.

With over 12 years of teaching experience, Schuyler has given masterclasses at the University of Maryland School of Music and at The Hartt School at the University of Hartford. Additionally, he has taught for The Baltimore Symphony Youth Orchestra, Academy, OrchKids, and OrchLab programs, and previously served on the bassoon faculty at Baltimore School for the Arts.

Schuyler has helped students gain acceptance into Boston University’s Tanglewood Institute, NYO2, regional, and all-state ensembles, and has had students go on to study music at the collegiate level at the Curtis Institute of Music and Northwestern University’s Bienen School of Music.

Schuyler is available for educational performances, master classes, and private lessons geared towards performance as well as reed making.
